Tile Ratings:
R9 offer minimal slip resistance and are best suited for dry indoor spaces like dining rooms and kitchens. Generally smooth surface gloss or matt tiles which when wet could provide a slip hazard. Suitable matting to absorb water is advised if an area could become wet.
R10 rating provide a moderate level of slip resistance, making them a suitable choice for indoor floors where moderate wetting may occur. Suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, hallways & entrances. The surface will generally be a textured matt surface.
R11 rating offer strong slip resistance and are versatile for use in all indoor areas, including wet rooms, and can also be employed for outdoor applications such as patios. Tile surface will generally be a heavier textured matt surface.
R12 rating are best used in areas with frequent heavy wetting such as the surround to a swimming pool, very exposed balconies or patios & factory floors. They will often have deep recesses to drain water.
R13 rating are best used in areas with frequent heavy wetting combined with other contaminants such as the surround to a commercial swimming pool or factory. They will have deep recesses to drain water and other liquids.
